ABOUT DR. PORTUONDO
Dr. Portuondo has been in private practice in Coral Gables, Florida since 1989. Dr. Portuondo was born in Miami, completed his training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and has been serving the Greater Miami and international community as well.
Dr. Portuondo was a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has been a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for thirty years.
He is certified in Basic Life Support (B.L.S.) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) since 1989. Dr. Portuondo is also a member of The Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (F.S.O.M.S.) and the American Dental Association (A.D.A.).
Dr. Portuondo been affiliated with local dental groups such as H.E.L.O., C.E.O.L.A., Riviera Study Club and L.A.O.D.I. and has lectured in Miami on multiple topics such as Dental Implants, Bone Grafting Techniques, Wisdom Teeth Extractions, Facial Trauma, Orthognathic Surgery and T.M.J. Therapy.
Most office procedures are done either with Local Anesthesia or with General Anesthesia or I.V. Sedation. Also Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) available for adults or pediatric patients.
Dr. Portuondo served on the Resident Staff as Fellow, Intern, Assistant Resident and Chief Resident and graduated from The Johns Hopkins Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department in 1989. He has been Board Certified by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1991, and has served on various dental association’s such as American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, West Dade Dental Society and Latin American Organization of Dental Implants to name a few.
Dr. Portuondo, has also been the guest speaker at countless Oral Surgery Study groups, and International Dental Conferences, and has been dedicated to the highest quality care in the specialty.
